How to Stop Hair Loss

You are not alone in your battle to stop hair loss. There are many people out there going through the same thing. In fact, hair loss is one of the most common complaints from adults today. Both males and females suffer from hair loss and hair thinning.

Hair loss is a common problem and it is not all about the cosmetic effect. Hair loss can lower self-esteem and cause people to feel less about themselves. Healthy hair can make a big difference in your confidence level and how you present yourself. Severe hair loss can even lead to depression in many people.

Evaluate Your Lifestyle

Many people do not realize how directly their lifestyle affects their hair loss. Heredity is a big factor in hair loss but you are not just born to be bald. There are other things in your life that can affect that. In fact, most doctors agree that hair loss actually comes from a combination of different factors in your life. Some of the factors that contribute to hair loss are:
  • Heredity
  • Hormone imbalances
  • Age
  • Stress
  • Injury
  • Intense radiation
  • Nerve disorders
  • Toxins
Most doctors agree that it takes at least 2 or more of these factors to really contribute to your hair loss. So even if your blood makes you more predisposed to it, there are things you can do to help prevent it or at least slow it down.

The things we have listed above are all causes that can make you more likely to have hair loss, especially if you have two or more from the list. But you might also want to look into your lifestyle. If you are under a lot of stress or if you eat poorly, you may have a higher risk of hair loss or have early hair loss. While you can’t get rid of all the stress in your life, you can change the way you manage it and this can have a big impact on your overall health, including your hair health.

Examine Your Options

If you suffer from hair loss and you want to do something about it, you just need to look into the different options that are available to you. And you probably already know that there are many options. There may be some that you can rule out right away for whatever reason. Maybe you don’t like to take pills or you can’t take medication or maybe the thought of surgery does not appeal to you. Maybe you worry about hair systems and toupees because of your lifestyle. You will be more embarrassed from a toupee or wig becoming misplaced at an inopportune moment that you would be from just wearing your baldness with pride. Some people can wear hair systems comfortably with no trouble. These are all things that can be looked into.

There are concealers and cover ups that can be very affective when applied correctly but they are only temporary and will have to be reapplied on a regular basis. If you do not want to devote the time for the applications, then this might not be a great option for you. It all involves seeing what is available and deciding what will work best for you.
